Ray Fletcher and his son reviewing plans on site

Our story

One ute, one planer, two generations.

Ray Fletcher started on the coast in 1998 building decks for neighbours. The neighbours told their neighbours. Twenty-seven years later his sons Tom and Will are on the tools beside him, and most of the work still comes the same way — someone saw a job we did a decade ago and it still looks right.

We’re not the cheapest quote you’ll get. We’re the one where the same three people who quoted it, build it.

Since 1998

Started by Ray Fletcher with one ute and a planer. Now Ray and both sons, same standards.

Twenty-seven rings in the timber

  1. 1998

Ray buys a ute and a planer. First deck: his own mum's.

  2. 2007

Tom joins after his apprenticeship. The wait list hits three months.

  3. 2016

Will makes it three Fletchers. Joinery workshop opens in Kunda Park.

  4. 2025

400 builds on. Most weeks, a job comes from a deck we built decades ago.

“The deck Ray built for my parents in 2004 is the deck my kids play on now. When we bought our own place there was no question who we’d call.”

Fair questions

Do you do small jobs?

Yes — doors that stick, a single gate, one wall of shelves. Small jobs done well are how we met most of our long-term clients.

Hardwood or composite decking?

Both. We'll talk honestly about budget, maintenance, and how each ages in coastal Queensland before you choose.

Do you handle council approval?

For decks and structures that need it, yes — we manage the drawings and certification as part of the fixed quote.

How far ahead are you booked?

Usually three to five weeks for builds. Quotes and site visits happen within the week.

A sketch, a photo, a Pinterest board — send the rough idea and we’ll come back with honest advice and a fixed quote.
